SPORT..

The word sport has been linked to many rodent and feline activities over the years, some suitably so and others more questionable, some of our furry friends find themselves naturally talented in these sports and others far less suited.

However..

In the weeks running up to the San Isidro festival, Famous myszador Diego Manchego had been subject to a barrage of protest from activists who believe the Cat Fight to be a brutal blood sport. Now in the center of Las Ventas, Diego moves gracefully into position. 25,000 spectators fall silent as the mighty cat prepares to charge. It is to be his finest hour.

Time Travel..

A draft of ‘Huntz-Briteley’s Time Cube’ by Sherwin Paws (1924)

‘As the time machine roared through blinding space, Professor Yorz Huntz-Briteley’s whisker rattled loose and fell straight into Plummets eye – the key piece of equipment controlling the ship’s destination. Yorz truly gave out a fearful scream like dry piano wires – and was sucked into a mid space mouse hole. The ship finally arrived, decades before, in a parallel universe, where ‘Manchego – the brutal cheese mouse’ had just shot the Professor’s Great great Auntie 12 times. Yorz cursed his birth and remaining whiskers and collapsed into vinegar tears.’

Paws’ publisher felt that it was not clear that the Professor’s path had been altered because of his own whisker falling into the equipment. Paws disagreed strongly but agreed to a rewrite.

Classic Cat and Mouse conflicts from the silver screen.

‘Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence' featuring David Meowie.

As the allies approach the camp, all prisoners are prompted to form
lines outside the barracks, including sick and moribund ones. The climax of the film is reached when Celliers (MEOWIE) breaks the rank and walks decidedly in Yonoi's direction to stop the Japanese mouse cutting off a cat’s head, only to end up resolutely kissing him in the cheek with a straight face. This is an unbearable offense to Yonoi's bushido honor code; he reaches out for his katana against Celliers, only to collapse under the conflicting feelings of vindicating himself from the offense suffered in front of his troops and his own feelings for Celliers, who is subsequently sentenced to death. It also has Christmas in the title.

'Cat Kong' (1933 origional black and white version)

In this classic scene Cat Kong has carried Ann (A female mouse actress who he has aquired a soft spot for) to the top of the Empire State building In a bid to outsmart the Mice who are trying to stop the giant cats destructive rampage and rescue Ann mouse. The military dispatches four Curtis Helldiver Byplanes to destroy Cat Kong. He climbs atop the building, trying to fend off the attackers, after setting Ann down safely out of the way he is mortally wounded by machine-gun fire and plummets to his death in the street below. Denhamouse (who had origionally lead the mission to capture Cat Kong from a remote prehistoric island) picks his way to the front of the crowd surrounding the Huge body which now lies lifeless on the ground, a cop remarks "Well Denhamouse, the airplanes got him." Denhamouse replies, "Oh, no, it wasn't the airplanes. It was Beauty killed the Beast."
